The Streaming Giant Casts Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has just been cast.
The platform declared Tuesday that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bentham. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve made contact with with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a version of that figure re-envisioned as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and cartoon version.
The new cast member is joined by a number of new cast members tasked with bringing the group to life, including chief the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Though this character is a important part of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the second season likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
