The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his debts and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as important members in House Halovar could assist the team access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
